Mother/Daughter Relationship

Blogged under mom on Wednesday 8 October 2008 at 8:30 am

There are few things in life that make me happier than a random call from my mom.  I’m not that girl who talks to her mom every single day, so when I do see her name on the caller ID I answer with a smile. However, whether the call ends with a smile is a completely different story.

“Hi honey, I was just thinking about you and thought I’d call.”

“Hi mom.  Were they good thought or bad thoughts?”

“Neither.”

“MOM! That’s a horrible answer.”

“What?  Of all people I thought you’d appreciate the fact I was being politically correct.”

“Whatever.”

my mom doesn’t even know what it means to be politically correct. and she would never call if she was just thinking about me. there would have to be a reason. speaking of calling for no reason i think i am going to give her a call now. i am going to listen to see if she smiles when she hears it’s me. i will report back.

Aww….I love Mrs. Nielson. She reminds me so much of my mom. We should have a mommy/daughter get together over the holdiays. You and I can go to the bar, and they can go to the temple and pray for us…oh, and drive us home from the bar.

Oh! She is making an effort! I think the last time my mom called was to ask me to babysit.
