Isn’t it obvious why Mr. Vegas didn’t mention his kid? He probably just wanted to have fun and tried his luck with you; mentioning his pending fatherhood isn’t very romantic at all. Don’t take this personally though - I bet he did this to whatever women he wanted to try his luck with.
I’d also guess that he didn’t feel he is responsible/obligated to share this with an ex.
I am a woman engineer and I’ve studied with boys and worked with men since 18. Men are just very different from women.
