i have no idea how it happened. it just did. i confused these two:
dwight yoakum and lyle lovett. they do have a few similarities; bad hair, rumored musical talent. dwight will be at the depot friday night, without me, had he been lyle lovett i would have been there. sad, because i was really looking forward to it. i even had a master plan. i was going to have a “friend” who works there sneak me in. my outfit was planned and everything. yes, it included a ski mask. damn. i’m retarded.

anyway. justin, i forgive you for laughing at me.

If you do ever actually have the chance to see Lyle, he’s great in concert. Dwight, on the other hand, is playing Thursday not Friday. So you would have been shocked all around. Better you found out now right?

Actually, had you gone on Friday, no doubt you would have been pleasantly surprised to discover James Blunt playing rather than Dwight or Lyle.

I didn’t think even the one song was that good, but then I heard some of his acoustic work and I changed my mind. An example (recording quality isn’t great):

eh, james blunt has been sold out for a while from what i’ve heard. the new security guard keeps ranting and raving about him. i seriously think she needs to change her panties every time she mentions his name.

I’m just glad you have the good sense to like lyle and not like dwight. It’s so easy to fall into the trap of dismissing someone because they have a hick name and their cds are sold in the “country” section. (they really should have seperate sections: “soulful, blues-influenced, bluegrassy goodness” and “dog/truck related achy-breaky bullshit”)

    mystery man,

i agree. i hate how certain artists are lumped into the country genre, just because there isn’t an appropriate place for them. we should make one up. then maybe itunes won’t group wilco as country. i’m bitter.
